Can you use IPTV on a Windows PC or laptop?

Yes. A compatible Windows player can be used on many desktop and laptop computers. This is useful for watching at a desk, testing an account on another device or connecting a laptop to a larger screen through HDMI.

Use the player recommended in your setup email. Install it through the Microsoft Store when available, or download it directly from the recognised publisher’s official website. Avoid unknown download pages, repackaged installers and files sent by unverified sources.

Windows 11 is the preferred current platform.

Windows 10 computers may still run compatible software, but Microsoft ended standard Windows 10 support on 14 October 2025. Moving to a supported operating system provides ongoing security updates and support.

What you need before installing the player

  • A Windows PC or laptop with a supported and updated operating system.
  • A stable internet connection through Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
  • Enough available storage for the app and its content information.
  • Your login or playlist details, supplied after the trial or package request is approved.
  • Administrator permission if Windows requires approval to install the selected app.

Keep your account information private. Do not post complete login details in public forums or send them to anyone who is not assisting through the official support email.

Update and restart Windows

Save your work, install available Windows updates and restart the computer before adding the player.

Install the recommended compatible player

STEP 03

Enter the supplied account details

Type the username, password and server or playlist information exactly as provided, without adding extra spaces.

STEP 04

Allow the first update and test playback

Keep the player open while it loads categories and programme information. Then test several live channels and VOD items.

Connection choice

Ethernet or Wi-Fi on a Windows computer?

Use Ethernet when possible

  • It normally provides the most consistent connection.
  • It avoids weak Wi-Fi signal and wireless interference.
  • It is well suited to a desktop or laptop used in one place.
  • It helps determine whether buffering is related to Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi is useful when

  • The laptop is used in different rooms or locations.
  • The router is close enough to provide a strong signal.
  • A cable connection is not practical.
  • You want to compare the computer with another Wi-Fi device.

Using a television

Connect a Windows laptop or PC to a TV with HDMI

  • Connect the computer to an available HDMI input on the television.
  • Select the matching HDMI source using the TV remote.
  • Use the Windows display controls to duplicate or extend the computer screen.
  • Select the television as the sound output if audio continues playing through the computer.
  • Use full-screen playback and keep the computer connected to power during longer viewing sessions.

Safe installation

Protect the computer when installing a player

  • Prefer the Microsoft Store when the recommended app is available there.
  • For desktop installers, use only the recognised publisher’s official website.
  • Do not install cracked, modified or repackaged software.
  • Do not disable Microsoft Defender or the Windows Firewall simply to make an unknown app run.
  • If Windows blocks a recognised app, confirm its source before changing any security setting.
  • Never open firewall ports based on instructions from an untrusted website or message.

Windows troubleshooting

When the Windows player will not work correctly

App checks

  • Close the player and restart the computer.
  • Check for an app update.
  • Use Repair in Windows app settings when that option is available.
  • If Repair does not help, use Reset where supported or uninstall and reinstall the app.
  • Test a second compatible player with the same account details.

Connection checks

  • Confirm Windows shows an active internet connection.
  • Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet where possible.
  • Restart the modem, router and computer.

Common PC and laptop questions

Can I use IPTV on both Windows 10 and Windows 11?

Compatible software may still run on both systems. Windows 11 is the better current choice because standard Windows 10 support ended on 14 October 2025.

Where should I download the Windows player?

Use the Microsoft Store when the recommended player is available there. Otherwise, use the recognised developer or publisher’s official website rather than an unknown download page.

Can I connect my laptop to the television?

Yes. Connect the laptop through HDMI, select the matching TV input and choose the television as the display and audio output where necessary.

Why does the player work on my phone but not the PC?

The issue may be connected to the Windows app, computer security settings, network adapter or computer connection. Test another player and compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet.

Should I turn off the Windows Firewall?

No. Keep the firewall enabled. If a trusted app is being blocked, review the app and allow only that recognised program when necessary rather than disabling protection for the whole computer.

What information should I send support?
